Visiting Hours and services

To better care and communicate about your health, we recommend having a companion. In the case of underage patients it is necessary that they be accompanied by an adult during their stay.
If you wish, you may request and extra bed in your room at no cost. Request this service from your nurse.
For medical and security reasons, critical care areas have restricted access and visiting hours.
Access to children under 12 years of age to hospital areas is prohibited as established by the Ministry of Health.
The second floor of Gynecology allows access, so long as you request an admission pass from the Patient and Family Office.

Visiting Hours

For recommended patient safety the advice is no more than 2 persons to be in hospitalization areas.
No plants, fruit or flower arrangements will be allowed, as these are sources of growth and multiplication of germs.

For patients welfare the following hours have been established for visitors.

Intensive and Coronary Care Unit

Morning       10:30 to 11:00 hrs.
Afternoon     13:30 to 14:00 hrs.
Evening        18:30 to 19:00 hrs.
Note: Presence of a family member is requested 24 hours.

Intermediate Therapy

Morning          11:00 to 12:00 hrs.
Afternoon        16:00 to 17:00 hrs.
Evening           19:30 to 20:30 hrs.
Note: Maximum of 3 persons during visiting hours per room.

Neonatal: Intermediate and Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Morning           10:00 to 11:00 hrs.
Afternoon         13:00 to 14:00 hrs.
Evening            19:00 to 20:00 hrs.
Note: Out of concern for infant safety, only their parents will be allowed into the nursery area.

Hospitalization Areas (Rooms, Suites, Pediatrics and Gynecology)

9:00 to 20:00 hrs.
Note: Out of respect of other patients, please be quiet.

Meal Hours for Patients

Breakfast:     8:30 to 9:00 hrs.
Lunch:          13:30 to 14:00 hrs.
Dinner:          19:30 to 20:00 hrs.
Note: Intensive and Coronary Care Unit hours may vary according to specific patient needs.
Out of concern for patient safety, we as you to not consume food or drink that has not been provided by the hospital nutrition staff.

We have two types of rooms available: Standard and Suite, which will be assigned upon request and availability. For additional information, please contact the admissions area at extensions 4129, 4131, 4132, 7205 y 7206.

Personal Hygiene Items
Upon admission to hospital, a Patient and Family Services advisor will provide a kit with personal hygiene items.

Pharmacies

We have two pharmacies both located on the ground floors of Tower I and II. You may find many useful items here.

For your safety and comfort we offer a home delivery service up to a distance of 10 km.

Television Channels

We receive local and signal channels from the SKY TV system. Request a remote at the Nurses Station of your floor.

Safety Deposit Box Out of concern for your valuables, our rooms are equipped with a safety deposit box located inside the closets. We ask you to please read the instructions attached to the box.
Note: Médica Sur is not responsible for the loss of valuables or objects outside the safety deposit box.

Cleaning service

Rooms are cleaned during the mornings. In case of additional services please request them at ext. 3104 and 3114.

Waiting rooms for patients and families.

There is a comfortable waiting room on each floor, just like in the main lobby. We remind you that there is no eating allowed in these.
In critical care areas: Coronary Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatrics and Adults, there are rest areas open 24 hours a day.
Note: Maximum 2 persons per patient.

Internet Service
If you wish to access the Internet from you room or in the lobby of Tower I, we will give you the security key to access these. Applies to family of patients, please request these at the office for Patient and Family Services.
